The second Super Saturday is over and we have 4 new songs in the mix! Maybe you chose to watch one national final, or maybe you’re a little bit crazy and you decided to toggle between all 4, in which case: I applaud you! Well done! Whatever you watched, we at niallpoints.com are ready to give our honest opinion. One of the countries choosing their entry last Saturday was Lithuania. A national final many euro fans have been craving to come to its climax. After a first run through of the songs, 3 acts made it to the super-final, including returnees The Roop. But in the end it was fan favorite Silvester Belt who managed to secure the ticket to Eurovision in May.
Lithuania at Eurovision
Lithuania debuted at the contest in 1994 with the song “Lopšinė Mylimai” by Ovidijus Vyšniauskas. Unfortunately it was not a successful debut as the song finished in last place with a harsh 0 points. They would not return to the contest until 1999. That too was anything but a success: “Samogitian” by Strazdas did not manage to score higher than a 20th place, resulting in Lithuania’s relegation in 2000. A fate they would endure again in 2003. Luckily for us all they did not withdraw. In 23 attempts they have only managed to reach the top ten 3 times. The first time in 2006 with the song “We Are The Winners” by LT United, who finished 6th. Next in 2016 when Donny Montell came 9th with his entry “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night” and the last one being in 2021 when The Roop reached an 8th place with their entry “Discoteque”. Along with them, Donny Montell and Monika Lynkitė have competed twice in the competition.
Despite not having won Eurovision yet, Lithuania have managed to qualify for the final 12 out of 19 times. Many believe they could have won the 2020 competition with their entry “On Fire” by The Roop, had it not been for the contests cancellation due to COVID regulations. The baltic country has since found itself on the right path. Having given us some fan favorites like Monika Lynkitė, who Čiūto Tūto’d her way to an 11th placement last year.
Lithuania 2024
EurovizijaLT has been one of the seasons biggest and longest running national finals, spanning over 5 semi finals and a final. 2 acts from each semi advanced to the final. After a firs voting round 3 acts were announced to advance to the super-final. They were The Roop, Silvester Belt and Shower. The eventual winner was decided by televote only. Silvester won the televote with a little over 50% of the votes. His song “Luktelk” is about “being stuck in a matrix loop, when we get stuck in our everyday tasks that repeat everyday, we can’t tell anymore whether we are in a dream, or in another dimension. It’s about generally not being happy, and only existing on the surface and it isn’t working anymore… but at the end of the day, we will wake up tomorrow and will still have to dance.” Well sad as that sounds, we definitely will be dancing in May, Silvester… You can rest assured.
Will Silvester dance his way into the grand final on Saturday? Or will he be packing his bags after the semi final? Find out what we think in our honest but fair reviews below!

I honestly don’t know what to say, I absolutely adore this track. Silvester has a mesmerising vocal that is so soft and soothing, but combined with the big beats of the song packs a punch at the same time.
For me, this is very almost a complete package ready for Malmö, the only thing I’d really change is the styling of the backing dancers, it just feels a little off to me, but that’s it. I have no other complaints.
Luktelk has made its way straight into my top spot, and it’s going to take a lot to dislodge it and I think this will be able to get Lithuania their best ever result.
Early prediction: Top 5

This was one of the first national selection songs I listened to and I instantly fell in love with it! Seldom have I heard such an intoxicating beat! I love the moment when the first chorus hits and the beat kicks in! Everything about this performance is just so well thought out! The staging in EurovizijaLT was simple but effective. Loved the little shoulder action! Might I suggest he bring a chiropractor to Malmö in case he strains a muscle?
As I said in my review of the first heat: This to me sounds like the future of Eurovision! Not just because of his age, but because of the artistic direction this is going in. The contest goes through phases, and every now and then there is a musical shift. For the past couple of years we’ve seen that happening. And this song fits perfectly in this new phase! I have no doubt that Lithuania has a shot at getting its best result ever! I will definitely be voting for Silvester!
Early prediction: 4-8
